Lion Queen: Zoo Melody is the first episode from the fourth season of The Garfield Show and the first part of the Lion Queen episode.

Garfield, Jon, Odie and Liz are on their way to Africa after finding out that Spencer Spendigton wants a Manzian White Lion. Dirk Dinkum and his assistant Buckley are out to capture it. Soon Angie starts to help them.

One day Jon, Liz, Garfield and Odie are driving in the car. Jon asks why Liz was invited by a very rich man named Spencer Spendington to be the vet for a zoo he owns. Garfield and Odie are playing a game Garfield made up called "Name That Sandwich" but Odie is unsuccessful at guessing.

Liz explains that Spendington owns eight mansions, 37 cars, two private jets, the Klopman Diamond, and a private zoo. They arrive at the mansion and Spendington gives them a tour of rare animals. Garfield knows that Liz loves zoos just not those that do not treat the animals well. Garfield asks a hippopotamus on how things are at the zoo, the hippo tells him that the animals don't get fed enough and that he was better off in Africa. Garfield and Odie start feeding the animals the sandwiches in their picnic basket. Jon asks Spendington who gets to visit the zoo, and Spendington tells him that his rich friends, servants, and Jon and Liz as well. They come to a cage which is empty. Jon thinks an animal escaped but Spendington reveals that it is saved for an animal he always wanted: a Manzian White Lion. Spendington tells his secretary Stella to put Dirk Dinkum on the TV Line.

Garfield, Jon and Odie remember Dirk Dinkum form the four-part episode "Long Lost Lyman". Dinkum reveals to Spendington that he is very close to finding a Manzian White Lion. Jon and Liz believe it to be one of the most beautiful and rarest creatures. As soon as the talk is done, Spendington asks Liz to be his vet but Liz refuses because Manzian White Lions are not meant to be in a zoo. Before they leave, Odie is successful at guessing the last sandwich.

Liz and Jon think of going to Africa to stop Dirk Dinkum and his assistant Buckley from capturing a Manzian White Lion. They board a plane to Africa. Jon tells Liz that an old friend named Angie can help them locate the Manzian White Lion. Garfield and Odie remember Angie who helped them find Lyman. A flight attendant asks them if they want some gum which everyone takes but Garfield takes the whole bowl before Odie can take one. Jon thinks Dinkum cannot come any miles from here but Dinkum and Buckley are seen at the back. They land in Manzia where they meet Angie. Angie knows a man called Armstrong who will help them. They enjoy the sights of animals and the land. Dinkum and Buckley are following them. Buckley tries to tell Dinkum that his uncle knows where a Manzian White Lion is but Dinkum refuses to listen.
