Memory Loss

Memory Loss happens when part of the brain that contains memory is affected somehow. Mostly by being hit on the head. Garfield gets it in both the comic strip and the TV Show.

During February 2-13, 1987 Garfield has lost his memory and on Valentine's Day 1987 he regained his memory but Jon lost his (not gone into context.). Garfield got it when he jumped to get a pie but missed the table and landed on his head. Jon and Odie spend a week and a half trying to get Garfield to get his memory. The 2nd half of the 2nd week Jon takes Garfield to the Vet where he regains his memory by Jon hitting him on the head with a reflex tester (which causes Garfield to hit Jon on the head). This was one of the rare comic stories where the Sunday strip goes along with the daily stories.

[edit] The TV Show

Garfield also lost his memory on the TV Show in the episode Forget Me Not. How he lost his memory is different than in the comic strip. A tough dog hit him in the head with a pie tin. That's also how he regained his memory. In the comic strip Garfield remembered that he had lost his memory. However it is completly opposite in the TV show. He completely forgets.
