Garfield and Friends Season One began airing in September, 1988 and ran for thirteen episodes, concluding in December of the same year.

- Garfield, having spent the entire night watching a documentary on coat hangers, tries to get some sleep while Binky the Clown is harrassing him looking for his latest birthday client.
- U.S. Acres: Wanted: Wade
- Wade thinks the cops are after him when he accidentally pulls a tag off a pillow that says, "Do Not Remove."
- Garfield: Garfield Goes Hawaiian
- Garfield contracts the Hawaiian Cat Flu, which makes him dance the hula at the mere mention of anything Hawaiian related.

- Garfield: Box O' Fun
- Garfield and Odie stretch their imagination by playing with an empty cardboard box.
- U.S. Acres: Unidentified Flying Orson
- Orson, while reading "Attack of the Awesome Space Zombies", is convinced that aliens are taking over the Earth, falling for Roy's hijinks.
- Garfield: School Daze
- Garfield gets enrolled in obedience school after attempting to mail Nermal to Abu Dabi.

- Garfield: Nighty Nightmare
- Garfield has a nightmare that he becomes a giant food-consuming monster after eating too much before his bedtime.
- U.S. Acres: Banana Nose
- Roy's latest ploy backfires on him when Lanolin insults him by calling him "Banana Nose." The gang realizes they were wrong when Roy decides to leave the farm.
- Garfield: Ode to Odie
- A poem, by Garfield the Cat (more like a rap), detailing a day in the life of Odie.

- Garfield: Fraidy Cat
- Garfield and Odie, watching a scary movie, are convinced that a monster got Jon and is trying to get in, when it is actually Jon himself that was locked out.
- U.S. Acres: Shell Shocked Sheldon
- Sheldon is sure that there is no reason to come out of his shell, but is convinced by Orson to hatch him. But when a fox happens upon an unattended egg, Orson must revert to Power Pig to save him.
- Garfield: Nothing to Sneeze At
- Jon takes Garfield to see Liz the veterinarian to cure his recent allergy, and manages to get a date out of her. Garfield then won't leave them alone.

- Garfield: Garfield's Moving Experience
- As there is no edible food left in the house, Garfield decides to find somewhere else to live, but the resulting diet restrictions from his new owner causes him to reconsider.

- Wade's constant outbursts causes Orson to try to hypnotize him to get over his fears. After he releases the bull from his pen, however, everyone realizes that Wade was just fine the way he was.

- Mice take over the house when they find out that Garfield would never think of eating them.

- After Garfield starts barking to fool a dog that wants to eat him, a dog catcher starts chasing him.

- Orson gets everyone to try out "Pig Ball", but Roy rewrites the rules, causing them to do really ridiculous things.

- Garfield gets stuck up a tree after being put outside for trying to upstage the cute Nermal.

- Garfield tampers with a talking scale, making Jon think he is overweight, to which Jon makes Garfield exercise with him.
- U.S. Acres The Worm Turns
- Orson tells the tale of how Booker's life was turned around after being saved from his own trap by a worm.
- Garfield: Good Cat, Bad Cat
- Garfield is visited by his angelic Good side and devilish Bad side, battling over who gets to control his actions.

- Garfield: Cabin Fever
- Jon, Garfield and Odie take a trip to a cabin in the mountains, but Garfield and Odie are left alone to starve when Jon gets stuck in the snow while out for groceries.

- Things get out of hand when everyone thinks a monster is on the farm, causing the return of Power Pig to save the day.

- Garfield and Jon share the same dream in which they switch bodies.
